Open-world westernová akce od Rockstaru může vyhrát hned v 7 kategoriích, zatímco PlayStation 4 exkluzivity God of War a Spider-Man mají každá 6 nominací.
Rockstar s Red Dead Redemption 2 bojuje i v kategorii pro hru roku 2018. Mimo jiné má šanci vyhrát i u příběhu, uměleckého směru nebo technologii. Vítězové v jednotlivých kategoriích budou odhaleny 20. března na konferenci vývojářů her v San Franciscu, kde si Amy Henningová (ex-šéfka vývoje série Uncharted a scénáristka) převezme ocenění za celou svou kariéru.
